Bournemouth will likely feel a tinge disappointed having relinquished a lead twice against their nearest closest promotion rivals but they displayed more than enough quality in the compact confines of a heaving Dean Court last night to add further proof that it will take something special to unearth them from an automatic promotion place.
It can no longer be permissible to categorise Eddie Howe’s team as surprise packages and in arguably their greatest test to date they avoided the defeat which, added to Middlesbrough’s slender victory at Blackpool, would have knocked them out of the top two.
