With a reputation for possessing a short fuse and high standards, Joey Barton’s withering and expletive-laden analysis of Queens Park Rangers’ latest away defeat was as passionate as it was predictable.

Harry Redknapp’s team succumbed to an 11th defeat from their 11 away league games this season in a match where all of Jonathan Walters’ goals could have been prevented and Barton informed his team-mates, in no uncertain terms, that this “was not fucking good enough”.
