A player from the Brazilian top-flight club Internacional was sent off after confronting his own team’s jeering fans in the middle of a match.

Angry with the constant derision, the left-back Fabricio broke off from a dribble, passed the ball to a team-mate and then walked toward the crowd midway through the second half of Internacional’s state championship match against Ypiranga on Wednesday.
