Jessica Ennis-Hill announces she will compete at July’s Anniversary Games

Jessica Ennis-Hill has announced that she will return to the Olympic Stadium, the scene of her heptathlon gold medal triumph at London 2012, to compete in this summer’s Anniversary Games.

It sets up the possibility of an intriguing head-to-head with her fellow British athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the brilliant multi-eventer who led the world heptathlon rankings last year and won pentathlon gold at the European Indoor Athletics Championships last month - possibly in the long jump or 110m hurdles.
