As the 25th edition of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles draws to a close, we take a look back at some of the best images by AFP’s Fadel Senna from the women-only race. The gruelling rally sees over 150 teams of two racing across 1,553 miles of the Moroccan desert through dried-out river beds and sandy dunes for nine days. Participants in the race navigate their own route and the winner is the team that covers the shortest distance to pass the checkpoints. GPS is banned along with binoculars and mobile phones, with teams having to rely on maps and navigation instruments
