U.S. President Donald Trump signed important executive orders, one on restricting funding for so-called sanctuary cities, which defy deportation laws. The other gets the ball rolling on the wall he wants to build on the U.S. border with Mexico. There are already some sections of the Mexican wall in place, built in trouble spots over the years, but there are still hundreds of kilometres of open spaces.
